By strapping heart rate monitors onto a few of their fans at a recent set at Vulcan Gas Company in Austin, Texas, bass-loving Canadian DJ duo Zeds Dead has actually quantified just how “turnt up” their sets actually are.
Regarding the unique scientific survey, Zeds Dead told BoingBoing that they perceived that their sets “produce an even crazier reaction” than a report on the site about a woman who wore a Fitbit during sexual intercourse. Zeds Dead then set forth upon conducting the study, asking the fans who took part to stay sober during the entire set. Thus, the sample could be controlled in order to capture data untainted by drug or alcohol use that would then be overlaid against the BPMs of the rhythm patterns during their set.
The findings were intriguing, and the six “most turnt” moments of Zeds Dead’s set were:
Zeds Dead – Hadouken
Zeds Dead – Lost You
Zeds Dead – Adrenaline
Dodge and Fuski – Positive Vibe
Zeds Dead & Melodon – Wit Me Dub
DJ SKT – Take Me Away ft. Rae (Andy C Remix)
While thinking about the applications of what this could mean for say, a Flosstradamus set in which their track Too Turnt Up could be played, stream Hadouken–officially Zeds Dead’s most turnt up banger–above.
