Pierre-Alexandre Busson, aka Yuksek, is a French producer and DJ heralded as one of the leaders in the newest wave of French electro. After ten years of studying piano at The Conservatoire in Paris, Yuksek is now one of the most sought-after producers in the genre, having performed remixes for artists such as Phoenix, Gorillaz, Chromeo, and Moby. Speaking of remixes, Yuksek just dropped three brand new songs in as many weeks, and they are all wickedly fun.
First up is a remix of Genius by C2C (forerly Coups2Cross), a French turntablist group. Yuksek does what he does best, and the result is a playful, piano-charged nu disco banger. Next up is Touch Sound by Nice-based band Griefjoy. Euphoric, indie-style vocals join a thumping bassline to make for some very easy listening. Last up is Sunrise by Danish producer Kasper Bjørke, featuring the vocals of Jacob Bellens. This one is a bright and bouncy, summertime mix of disco and acid sounds, great to blast on car speakers or in the quiet of your own home. When you’re done listening, head over to his SoundCloud page to listen to more from the French phenom. You’ll thank me later.
