You know you’re in for a roaring ride with a name like Hellfire Machina. The duo, made up of CA-residing Jody and NY-residing Tom, have proven that you don’t have to be in the same room (or the same state) to craft bangers. Tom & Jody are also the brainchildren behind NY events company Bass Fueled Mischief, a crew that has brought such names as Dirtyphonics and Zeds Dead to Best Buy Theater in Times Square. Their next offering? A 2-day bassfest featuring Excision in March–click here for more details. But onto the music.
Good Love is the title track of their EP on Lifted Music, which released yesterday. It’s quite the romper, with a soulful vocal sample and about 18 drops–OK, maybe not 18, but there sure are a lot of ‘em, especially considering the track clocks in at only three minutes and 47 seconds. I am a big fan of its melodic nature; there is a heavy dose of Flux Pavilion-esque tonality throughout, making it an easy one to hum along to. This track also features up-and-coming New York bass music producer Infuze–definitely one to watch if he’s hanging around these guys. Good Love has already gotten support from UKF Dubstep, so press play and see what’s inside!
