Amsterdam-based trap trio Yellow Claw returns with new single Sin City, an ambient and cinematic Dutch house-meets-trap heater that goes from zero to car-alarm-and-chopped-vocal-sample-mania real quick.
There’s a sense of calm that throughout the production that belies Yellow Claw’s typical call to absolute panic. Yes, there’s still those aforementioned car alarm synths, but the presence of room to breathe for the half-time breakdown of Dutch bubbling drums is a clear attempt at sonic progression. From American trap to Dutch bubbling and likely more, their upcoming Blood For Mercy album from Mad Decent, set to drop Nov. 20, should be a diverse bass smorgasbord.
