UPDATE: Coast Guard Identifies Woman Missing From Mad Decent Boat Party

UPDATE: The US Coast Guard has confirmed the identity of the female passenger reported to have gone overboard during the Mad Decent Boat Party Nov. 12 as Kaylyn Rose Sommer, 24, of Charleston, SC. The USCG is still conducting a search, according to a Tweet:



UPDATE: The search for the female guest reported to have gone overboard during the Mad Decent Boat Party is still ongoing. Mad Decent and Norwegian Cruise Lines confirmed reports that the incident was observed as “intentional” in the following statement:

“On Thursday, November 12 during a chartered cruise on Norwegian Pearl, a female guest was observed intentionally going overboard while the ship was sailing the Yucatan Channel. The ship’s crew immediately initiated rescue measures, including deploying three rescue boats and notifying the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities. The search for the guest is ongoing. Both the ship and charter company teams are providing support to the family and all impacted guests during this difficult time.”

Performances have resumed and the event will continue as scheduled until it returns to port on Sunday.

Reports from Twitter user Zethussuen of a girl having gone overboard on Mad Decent Boat Party have been confirmed. According to the Netflix product designer-turned-ad hoc reporter, life boats have been sent out into the dark, and the US Coast Guard and Cuban authorities are en route. All stages have been temporarily closed, according to Your EDM.
