Hot Creations has been on a tear of late, snatching up explosive talent with a flair for the deep and funky. Number 21 on the label is no exception with newcomer wAFF creating the ultra-sexy Rainbows EP just in time for summer. The UK-based producer is already getting love from the likes of Jamie Jones and Subb-an, which is some indication that 2012 is set to be a huge year. Press play, close your eyes, and you’ll soon find out why.
Rainbows begins with the unstoppable groove of Jo Johnson, a masterfully layered heater rife with seductive whispers and unpredictable percussion. The constantly building and gathering house vocals are perfect for peak time; this one’s sure to pack the floor worldwide. The lustful Jeyda follows up to get everyone hot and bothered, purple sparkles forming in the mind as that bassline works its way inside. This EP already sounds like hedonism, but wAFF isn’t finished yet. His techy side comes out in the title track, made for a sunset with arms in the air, reaching to musical salvation. If this is what rainbows at night are like, then the daytime ones are overrated.
