There’s something about anthemic dubstep that allows it to find its way directly to my heart. The newest release from dance music vet DJ Fresh epitomizes the sub-sub-genre with dangling piano melodies and vocals that are indicative of a true pro. A great follow-up to Fresh’s 2010 hit Gold Dust, the track that, with the help of Flux Pavilion, brought dubstep to the international mainstage.
Speaking of Flux Pavilion, the UK wonder-child is back, this time teaming up with Doctor P on remix duty for Fresh’s aforementioned track. There’s still a strong sense of anthem in this track, it just happens to be paired with a few sprinkles of the UK’s finest gore-step around. Expect this track to blow up, as its predecessor did just time last year.
Lastly, I’ve tagged on a remix of Lassitude, another 2010 DJ Fresh hit, by LA producer Dillon Francis. His jazzy, chill-steppish take on the dnb track will first hit all the right spots, then proceeds to find a few you didn’t even know existed.
