HARD Head Honcho Destructo finally released his long-awaited Technology EP. We posted about the title track back in December and even included it in our Top 15 Electro Tracks of 2011, but it has resurfaced with some bangin’ new tunes and a sick remix to boot. The EP comes with a Rat-o-logy remix of the track, along with two Destructo originals that are enough to blow your socks off.
The Jan Driver “Rat-o-logy” remix is a rehash of the original, toning down the drop and giving it more of a UK jungle vibe. The buzzing synth used in the drop of the original is instead tweaked into light sampling on top of a progression of wild kicks and snares–a great alternative for anyone looking to play an opening set. LA Funky is Destructo’s LA take on a UK concept. The track is very minimal in nature, yet adds synth and screaming samples to give it a certain animosity–not to mention the drops are deadly. Finally, Stand Still lies someway between techno and Boys Noize electro–something that gets a big +1 from me. We do indeed have the technology.
