Wardt van der Harst & Willem van Hanegem are back with Alpha yet another tech-trance BOMB. There’s not a spark of doubt that W&W are riding the big wave these days, playing all over the world and leaving elephant-sized imprints in the minds of their fans. They’ve also been given huge support from Armin van Buuren who continues to spin their furiously phat beats in many of his sets; earlier this year at ASOT 450 he said “W&W are truly the rising stars of trance. If I have to put my money on somebody, I put it on W&W.”
Wardt & Willem showcased their range as producers short while ago, testing out a progressive sound out with Manhattan, and now they reinforce their discography with another explosive CH00N entitled Alpha. It takes influences from some of their previous works like Dome & a track they collaborated on with Ummet Ozcan called Synergy–growling thunderous of beats, unrelenting tension, and a section of violin-driven euphoria during the break that leads into the atomic drop.
Alpha is a massive track that further proves that W&W really know how to kick it into high gear and bring dancefloors to critical mass. As I anticipated, Armin dropped Alpha this past weekend at Electric Zoo Festival in New York; it was absolutely INSANE to hear live.
I leave you with one more piece of destructive proof of how skilled these 2 are–a W&W mashup of their own Dome with Ummet Ozcan’s monster Timewave Zero called Domewave Zero. Enjoy!
