UPDATE: 5 Years Of mau5 will be a retrospective double album with highlights from his back catalog and exclusive new remixes. The official mau5trap release date is Nov. 25.

deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman) announced via his website that he will be releasing a remix collection featuring some of the biggest names in EDM.

According to deadmau5, 5 Years of mau5 is “coming real soon” and will feature remixes of tracks from the Canadian producer’s last five albums.

coming real soon. 5 Years of mau5. Remixes by Chuckie, Dillon Francis, Nero, Eric [Prydz], Nero, Madeon, Pig & Dan, Botnik and more :) [sic]

Based on the information and photo that Zimmerman posted, we can assume that the tracks will come from For Lack of a Better Name (2009), 4×4=12 (2010), Album Title Goes Here (2012), and this year’s while (1<2). Although Random Album Title was released in 2008, the photo indicates that the release will feature a track from it as well. The red portion of the photo could also be a reference to a track off Zimmerman’s 2009 compilation album It Sounds Like.

No official tracklist or release date has been set, but be sure to keep an eye out for 5 Years of Mau5 in the coming months.
