The world’s most widespread electronic music festival got even bigger today with the announcement that Ultra Music Festival will be adding dates in South Africa and Japan to its repertoire in 2014.
Having already established UMF events in Miami, Argentina, Chile, Croatia, Brazil, Korea and Ibiza, these will be the eighth and ninth iterations of Ultra, making UMF the most international festie brand on Earth, with a presence on five continents by next year.
According to a release from UMF officials, the first-ever UMF South Africa will see Tiesto headlining what will be the largest event of its kind ever to go down on the African continent Feb. 14-15 in Cape Town (Cape Town Ostrich Farm) and Johannesburg (Nasrec Showgrounds), respectively. Also making the trip will be Nicky Romero, W&W, Alesso, Krewella, and tons of local South African talent already announced in the phase 1 lineup.
The details for Ultra Japan are a being kept quiet for now, but the famed Road To Ultra party will be going off in Tokyo Dec. 20 (get tickets here), and details surrounding UMF Japan will be announced there.
