I’m always thrilled to see historical icons continue to produce and thrive through the decades. One of the trance scene’s most memorable producers, Airwave, has thrived as a living legend and has continued with unchanged fan devotion to this day. Now a father, this Belgian icon’s strong obsession for synthesizers began at an early age as he studied the historical roots of electronic music going back to 70s band Kraftwerk.
Still at the top of his game, Airwave’s relentless pursuit of beats generated smooth liquid breaks in his track Chasing Love by Israeli rising star Maor Levi. Flowing in sync with beautiful vocals by Ashley Tomberlin, the remix once again underlines the potential and how far more traditional breakbeats have evolved. Truly a master of cascading melodies, he introduced his trademark harmony to Changeful World by Russia’s 23-year old Evgeny Bardyuzha, to spectacular results as well. Have a listen!
