Anyone who lived in the ’80s remembers Take On Me, the ubiquitous 1985 hit single from Norwegian synthpop band a-ha. Fast-forward 30 years to present day, and fellow countryman and reigning tropical house kingpin Kygo has delivered a chilled-out, beachside remix.
Singer Morten Harket’s timeless falsetto vocals still remain the highlight of the track, but the inclusion of a soft piano melody, drums, and Kygo’s signature tropical stylings make this a laid-back groover instead of the upbeat pop hit form yesteryear. Nevertheless, the track still retains its care-free, feel-good vibes.
