Swizzymack – Drip
Swizzymack - Drip (Original Mix) [Mad Decent]
Mad Decent released a lot of gems this year, but one of our favorites has to be Drip by Swizzymack. Although it’s a relatively simple track, in that fact lies its beauty. With the bass turned up high, you can really appreciate its outstanding production quality. The track earns its right to blast air horns and air raid sirens by the sheer depth of its bass drops and snappy tongue clicks.

Jackal feat. CRNKN – Bubblegum
Jackal feat. CRNKN - Bubblegum (Original Mix)
The twerk music tempo took off in a big way this year, and one of the best examples is Bubblegum. Its enormous bass, squeaky spring mattress samples, and catchy bubble pops make it a highly distinguishable tune. Both Jackal and CRNKN have been making outstanding productions this year, and this one is no doubt one of their best. Free Download Here.

M.I.A. – Bad Girls (Nonsens Remix)
M.I.A. - Bad Girls (Nonsens Remix)
This next remix of M.I.A. makes it obvious how well her songs work within the trap genre. The original is already an amazing hip hop tune, and this remix by the Danish trio Nonsens takes the anthem to the next level. Dedicated to all worst ratchets out there, it’s sure to destroy any club with its slamming drops, finger snaps, and Maya’s "I don’t take sh*t from nobody" attitude. The best part of this track is definitely the flute-laden breakdown at 1:45. Free Download Here.

DJ Fresh vs Diplo feat. Dominique Young Unique - Earthquake [Ministry Of Sound]
When two of the biggest tastemakers, DJ Fresh and Diplo, join forces, we get one of the year’s biggest tracks in Earthquake. The gritty drops are what give this track its muscle. This is definitely one for the international #TwerkTeam. Although there are plenty of remixes, the original takes the cake.
#11
Yellow Claw – DJ Turn It Up (Original Mix)
Yellow Claw - DJ Turn It Up (Original Mix) [Jeffree's]
Yellow Claw has become an unstoppable force in the trap game. The Dutch producers proved themselves as not just exceptional remixers, but outstanding producers as well this year with their Amsterdam Twerk Music compilation. It was hard to pick a favorite off this release, but DJ Turn It Up definitely stands out the most with its popping melodies and driving voice samples.

Waka Flocka Flame – No Hands (CRNKN Remix)
Waka Flocka Flame - No Hands (CRNKN Remix)
Waka Flocka’s rhymes inspire a certain IDGAFOS mentality; his tracks are well known as some of the biggest party starters out there. CRNKN kept in that same energy in mind when building his remix of No Hands. From beginning to end, this track hits deep with its bass and is guaranteed to get everyone turnt up. Free Download Here.

Brillz released loads of great material this year, including but not limited to his brilliant Twonk album. Baauer x Just Blaze feat. Jay Z - Higher
Baauer and Just Blaze teaming up with Jay-Z for a trap track is pretty large statement about how popular the genre has grown. Higher is full of excellent drum work, and is perfectly designed to get everyone pumped up and rowdy. Adding further emphasis to the track’s attitude is the official music video featuring martial arts and a young boy’s triumph over evil.

There’s no other way to say it: when this track drops, the club goes ape, fully tapping into everyone’s primal instincts with its use of didgeridoo and serious kick. Although terrifically silly, the production quality here is definitely worthy of applause. Victor Niglio was already climbing his way up the ladder before, but Jiggy is what truly highlighted his talent this year.

ETC!ETC! made his version of pop hit Summertime Sadness completely his own. Flosstradamus & DJ Sliink - Crowd CTRL (Original Mix) [Fool's Gold]
The titans of skull-crushing drops, Flosstradamus, left a wake of destruction their path this year. The Chicago duo have been long-time LessThan3 favorites, and this year they were especially influential with tracks like their hardstyle-influenced collab Pillz with Yellow Claw and Green Velvet and their remix of Flux Pavilion’s Do Or Die. However, the track that hit the hardest was Crowd CTRL with DJ Sliink, which samples gang leader Cyrus’ triumphant speech from ’70s film The Warriors.

Baauer and RL Grime bonded quite a bit on tour in 2013, and underscoring their combined talents is their massive track Infinite Daps. This beast slams down with tremendous force after a soaring build. According to the tour video, Infinite Daps means a state of mind and soul where you pound your fists with another gentleman to prove your infinite solidarity.

Bird Machine is arguably the most unique and memorable trap track of the year–nearly everyone recognizes this wild party-starter. We don’t think anyone expected to get as big as it did, but it became an unstoppable force following its release, and also helped to popularize the twerk music tempo.
