Independently, they’re known for comedic exploits, reality TV jack ass-ery and rapping about snorting mounds of cocaine in 1980. Collaboratively, they make up the Holy Trinity of Hip Hop, a self-dubbed yet possibly accurate title. I’m of course referring to Three Loco, a one-part comedic, two-part dope hip hop concoction from the strange, strange minds of Andy Milonakis, Dirt Nasty, and RiFF RaFF. After multiple release date changes, their self-titled debut EP is finally out on Mad Decent and is already #3 on the iTunes hip-hop chart (right behind Kendrick Lamar and Flo Rida).
By now you’ve probably heard the trio rhyme a bunch of random words with –ito (on Neato) and transform the Farmers Insurance jingle into a trap banger (renamed We Are Llamas due to lame copyright issues). The rest of the album follows suit–a medley of pseudo-hipster irony and dick jokes over ghetto blaster approved beats produced by the likes of Diplo and 5kinandbone5. If you don’t pay attention to the lyrics, Not Coming Home Tonight has mainstream radio appeal, while Beer is a love song to sudsy drinks everywhere. Both are likely to make drunken college girls raise their drinks in delight. Bills Are Paid, Paranoid, and Make Em Wait are on a more laidback tip while Bong Hits (video below) will abrasively snap your neck.
Long story short, the Three Loco EP will nod heads, insult your mom, and rattle your trunk. It will also “end racism” according to Dirt Nasty. Do your part in the fight against racism by buying the EP at Beatport.
