Barely a week after announcing their highly-anticipated festival anthem Mammoth, brothers Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have released a hardstyle collaboration on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak label and announced Wakanda, an addictive festival anthem that’s caught the ear of everyone who’s experienced Swedish House Mafia on their farewell tour.
On Monday, Dim Mak released Madness, a product of the combined forces of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Coone and Lil Jon. The track first premiered during EDC Las Vegas 2012 and was included in the popular Tomorrowland 2012 after-movie as well as the brothers’ EDC/Tomorrowland 2012 recap video. Madness is different than what we’ve come to enjoy from the brothers; the crunk-flavored hip hop chants of Lil Jon mixed with Coone’s taste for harder sounds shines through in an electrifying assault of bass slams and dark, aggressive synths.
More good news came on Wednesday when the Belgian duo announced the release date of Wakanda, their debut single on Axwell’s Axtone imprint. Named after a fictitious African country in the Marvel comic Black Panther, Wakanda’s addictive chant and thumping basslines have been unleashed on every stop of SHM’s One Last Tour, leaving the global dance community reeling.
Expect fantastic releases from Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike as they continue their quest for dance music glory in 2013. Be sure to pick up Madness on Beatport today and grab Wakanda when it drops on February 11th. Also, be sure to watch the video the brothers posted of SHM dropping Wakanda at their final performance in Sweden below.
