The Return of Armin

Since the release of his new single, Full Focus, we’ve been expecting some big news from the world’s #1 DJ for awhile now…and here it is! Armin’s kicking off his summer into full gear with the announcement of a new album, Mirage, in the Fall along with the return of his famous concert-series, Armin Only, which will take place in 15 cities around the world. Mirage will be Armin’s 4th studio album, and his first since 2008.

Armin’s last CD, Imagine, was filled with catchy vocal hits like In & Out Of Love featuring Sharon den Adel and Going Wrong with Chris Jones. Since then, he’s released more experimental sounding tracks that seem to emphasize instrumentals and organ-heavy buildups like Tuvan, Aisha, and his most recent release Full Focus. It’ll be interesting to see whether Armin’s new album will follow this trend, or whether it’ll follow in the footsteps of Imagine. The track posted below, ripped from his live EDC set, is an unknown track off the album, and shares similar qualities to his recent singles.

Says Armin in a press release, “For me, Mirage is all about the feeling of euphoria I experience when I see all those people enjoying themselves during my set. It’s my passion for music that I share with everyone, at a moment like that. If that special connection is there, it almost feels like a blanket of positive energy takes over in the hall. Those are the times when I enjoy myself at 200 percent. And that’s exactly the feeling I want to express with Mirage.”

The release of the album will be followed by a new “Armin Only” concert-series, a dazzling extravaganza of lights, water, and flames themed around Mirage. Then, of course, there’s the part where Armin spins for nine hours along with a slew of guest appearances. To get a better idea, be sure to check out his Armin Only 2008 Live At Utrecht DVD!
