This song is blowing up all over the internet. Feel Good by Modestep is February’s dubstep anthem. Coming from where else but London, the group lists the genres, “rock, dub, and soul” on their MySpace. If you listen carefully to this song, you can hear exactly what that amalgamation of genres sounds like. The lead singer’s vocals is what gives this track its gusto. I mean, let’s face it–by now, massive dubstep drops have been done. Dubstep songs that shine are more than just about the grime nowadays. They find ways to mix it up, or keep it fresh if you will. Feel Good does just that.
The Statelapse remix also manages to change things up a bit. It ups the grime level and adds in some chords of synth that give it a rather alien sound. There’s also a incredibly epic drop in the latter part of the song that is just face-melting. Whereas the original was more anthemic, this one is just plain dirty. It depends what you’re in the mood to listen to, but both are really great. Expect to see a lot more of Modestep in the coming months. They’re going to be mega-popular after this single.
