In the midst of preparations for the release of their forthcoming debut album, 55, New York City-based duo The Knocks have revealed the LP’s lead single, a stellar new track entitled Dancing With Myself.
In 2010, The Knocks were Dancing With The DJ; five years later, they are just Dancing With Myself. The single is a downtempo, silky smooth track featuring a funky bassline and sophisticated instrumentals. The Knocks’ very own James “JPatt” Patterson provides the vocals, singing about the streets of the duo’s hometown. In an effort that blends elements of nu disco and synth pop, the track is in stark contrast to The Knocks’ recent hit, Classic, and proves the immense talent and diversity of these two producers.
No word on an official release date for the track or album from The Knocks, but you can check back in here or on the group’s Facebook for more news.
