The Keys To My Ears
MGMT - Electric Feel (Keys N Krates Remix)
Madeon - Icarus (Keys N Krates Remix)
Miike Snow - Devil's Work (Keys N Krates Remix)

Keys N Krates probably aren’t on the casual EDM fan’s radar, so if you haven’t heard of them yet, here’s an introduction. Hailing from Canada, the trio has made a name for themselves after releasing a slew of remixes for artists such as Snoop Dogg, Drake, and Justice. Over the past year they have toured all throughout North America and Southeast Asia, playing alongside artists like Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, and SBTRKT, to name a few. The trio consists of world champion turntablist DJ Jr Flo, keyboardist Matisse, and Adam Tune on drums. Mixing a blend of live instruments, sampling, and turntablism, they’ve developed a distinct sound that appeals to fans of all genres, dabbling in EDM, hip-hop, and everything in between.

To give you an idea of their talent and versatility, here’s a trio of Keys N Krates songs. First up is their remix of Madeon’s smash hit Icarus, originally a beautiful, uplifting electro-house tune that the boys from have flipped upside down and turned into something gritty and totally awesome (especially the second half). The remix of Miike Snow’s Devil’s Work is an upbeat take on the original, but still remains a fun song to chill out to. Finally, we have the song that first introduced me to the group, a thumping remix of Electric Feel, the critically acclaimed song by indie giants MGMT.
