French phenom Tony Romera has quickly made a name for himself as one of France’s brightest up and coming artists.
His original production MAD–which was the winning entry in Tristan Garner’s Xtra Life Records competition–arguably catapulted his name into the mainstream dance music scene. Romera has received support from some of the biggest names in dance music including his mentor Tristan Garner, Dada Life, Tiesto, and Chuckie. His latest remix of Nicky Romero and Calvin Harris’ Iron falls nothing short of exceptional as he continues to solidify his name in the French house scene.
Romera’s take on Iron reminds me of a chopped and screwed version of MAD. The rough bassline and stuttering melody coincide beautifully with the uplifting cord progression of the original while Calvin’s vocals provide the icing on yet another masterfully constructed cake. Young Dutch star Dyro also provided a banging electro remix of Iron, so be sure to check out his remix and pick them up on Beatport here.
