Get your dancing shoes on, because you are about to hear one of the most smashing house tracks I’ve heard in all my years.
Harry “Choo Choo” Romero is a long-time staple of the New York house community whose most recent hit became the longest-running #1 track on Beatport in 2010–Where You Are, which also showed up on our Top Electro of 2010 Countdown and Countdown Mix. Trey Lorenz has long been associated with Mariah Carey as one of her main background vocalists and the male voice on her legendary early ’90s live cover of the Jackson 5’s I’ll Be There, which you may remember seeing the duo sing at Michael Jackson’s funeral (please excuse Mariah’s vocal deterioration).
Lucky for us, Trey still sounds freaking awesome, and Harry is bigger and better than ever, and their pairing on Is This Time Goodbye? (I Gotta Move On) is nothing short of a match made in heaven. Vocals that remind you of the church-house paired with slammin’ tribal house beats and uplifting lyrics will probably make you want to run out of the house, run for president, or kick that whiny significant other of yours to the curb. This will live in my EDM annals for centuries to come. Kid Alien, out.
