Rogier de Kreuk, better known as Rodg, is still in the Beaport Chillout Top 10 with Jacqueline, six months after it was released. So while he seemingly has the ambient side of things sewn up, how will he fare when it comes to something with a little more energy?
The answer comes in the shape of Didn’t Get Caught, and it seems expertise in chill-out makes for some pretty exceptional progressive trance. It’s on the slow side as you might expect, but 125bpm has quite a lot about it when you keep things interesting. There’s driving bass, plucks, percs and pads–everything about this track is designed to flow and evolve. It’s arrangement like this which is key to crossing trance into deep and tech house. As a result, Didn’t Get Caught should appeal to a very wide array of DJs and listeners, and although most of us are in the freezing cold depths of January, it would do well to stick around for warm festival evenings and Ibiza sunsets.
Grab Didn’t Get Caught now on Beatport, and keep it somewhere safe.
