The Chemical Brothers Remix ‘Go,’ Their Own Single

UK dance legends The Chemical Brothers recently released Go, a funky throwback of a single featuring rapper Q-Tip that invites comparisons to clubby early-’80s break beat-driven vibes. With their dub remix of their own track, they add a deeper touch of history to their modern-throwback sound.

The Edge of Control Dub continues with the original’s bassline that’s an homage to Newcleus’ 1984 funk-meets-krautrock hit Jam On It. Creating a theme and variations on a needling synth inviting similarities to Arthur Baker remixing New Order’s 1983 hit Confusion. Overall, The Chemical Brothers dig deep into the proto-rave vibes for what is more of a classic 12″ edit than what one would consider a remix in the modern era.
