The Chemical Brothers Announce Album For 2015

The Chemical Brothers‘ long production hiatus comes to an end with the announcement of their eighth studio album, due out in 2015.

The LP is currently untitled, but member Tom Rowlands (pictured right) tells Resident Advisor, “We have worked with some guest singers but mostly the album is pure Chemical Brothers”, which is great news for devout purists. The duo will also be debuting a new live show to tie in with the album.

Rowlands will head out on tour solo, however, as chemical compadre Ed Simons is giving up the road to make time to pursue academics, as previously reported. He will still maintain involvement in the album’s production.

Few artists can claim the veteran status of the Chem Bros. Active since the ’90s, this duo garnered godlike status among their contemporaries for sheer longevity and an ability to stay relevant in a scene that changes quicker than the seasons. Their last album, Further, was released in 2010, but with it began their four-year break from the album game.
