Our series with Beatport known as The Beatport Box is back, on the heels of Beatport’s release of the new-and-improved online store known as Beatport Pro. This week, Dubfire and Oliver Huntemann grace us with the newest edition of their Elements Series, Michael Calfan delivers a big house track with soul and depth, Shlomi Aber reignites a classic hit, and much more.
Techno | Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann – Elements Series IV: Agua [Ideal Audio]
Absolute powerhouse of a release here with the combined efforts of Dubfire & Oliver Huntemann to present Agua, a stadium-sized bomb set to define the prime time. Huge swirling synths, looped drones, and a gigantic kick form the original version. Remix duties come from two techno legends: Carl Craig, whose mix strips things back, and Petar Dundav, who provides our favorite version of the EP w/ perfectly placed programming. Get the package here.
Techno | Shlomi Aber – Tel Aviv Garden Remixes [Saved]
One of our favorite tracks from Shlomi Aber, Tel Aviv Garden, returns with a revised update from Mr. Aber as well as a slammin’ remix from Saved Records label boss Nic Fanciulli. Shlomi’s “2006 Twisted Mix” takes the main bits from the original and adds a bit more punch, while Nic Fanciulli tweaks and twists the parts into a brand new version set to top the tech house charts. Grab it here.
House | Michael Calfan – Prelude (Original Mix) [Spinnin’]
Michael Calfan has outdone himself with Prelude, a Spinnin’ release that strays from the label’s standard big room fodder, and instead offers us soulful pianos and vocal samples and syncopated kickdrums that make this one an immediate head-turner. Is this the hit that Michael Calfan needs to join the A-list league? We certainly think so. Purchase here.
Electro/Progressive | David Tort & Roland Clark – The Pleasure Dome (Original Mix) [Zerothree]
We actually premiered this track, but it’s so good we wanted to give it to you one more time. Dark, driving, and dirty–these are three words that perfectly describe the new cut from Roland Clark & David Tort. The Pleasure Dome is a seven minute banger made for absolutely tearing a venue apart. 303 squelches, big builds, and a wicked spoken word from Roland Clark himself capture a true underground weapon you need to have in your arsenal. Pick it up here.
