We’re back with the 22nd episode of our series with Beatport known as The Beatport Box, where we bring you the best of Beatport exclusives on a weekly basis. This week we’ve got what may be Tigerskin’s best work yet, new trance from 4 Strings and Eximinds, and much more.
Deep/Tech | Tigerskin – Sticky Cow EP [Electronique]
Wow. That summarizes our first reaction to the latest EP from Germany’s Tigerskin. The versatile producer has really struck gold with Sticky Cow, the title track off his triple header release. When you hear this bassline, you’re going to have the same jaw-dropping reaction we did. Big, dirty and ready to make people move. Tigerskin is a consistently amazing producer, but this may be his best yet. Pick it up here.
Deep/Tech | Balcazar & Sordo, Kosmas – Joongl EP [Sudbeat]
Secret weapon alert! These three tracks from Mexico’s Balcazar, Sordo & Kosmas is a true home run of a release. Three tracks covering a wide spectrum of dance music styles, Joongl is class from start to end. Big room progressive house to deep, trippy, spaced out grooves–this three-track EP has cuts that will work for all hours of the night. We’re really impressed with this and highly recommend it. Purchase here.
Big Room/Electro | Ferry Corsten feat. Natt Dunn – Hyper Love (Extended Mix) [Flashover]
The legend known as Ferry Corsten continues to churn out the big tunes, and his latest release, Hyper Love, is of no exception. Nat Dunn provides a larger-than-life vocal on top of intense key stabs, gigantic builds and drop that contain enough energy to destroy any large room imaginable. We’re expecting this one to reach crossover status, no doubt. Fall in love here.
Trance | 4 Strings – Monday (Original Mix) [Liquid]
A new track from trance legend 4 Strings is always welcomed, and his latest release comes via Spinnin’ sub-label Liquid Recordings. Monday is a perfect blend of trance and big room–so perfect that I imagine any forward-thinking trance DJ is going to immediately put this on their playlist. Get it here.
Trance | Eximinds – Helena (Original Mix) [Always Alive]
Eximinds have an amazing knack for out-of-the-box melodic sequences that still fit well within the trance realm, and their newest, Helena, is perhaps one of the best examples yet. Just listen to the chord progression in that drop–it was as if it got taken from a Baroque piece of music and transformed into a glorious trance drop. The Helena package also includes hard-hitting reworks from Andrew Benson and Ozo Effy and is out now on Daniel Kandi’s Always Alive Recordings. Grab it here.
