We’re back with our series with Beatport known as The Beatport Box, where we bring you the best in Beatport exclusives on a weekly basis. For this edition, we’ve got a smashing remake of Michael Jackson from Audien, the latest release from Maceo Plex’ Ellum Audio label, a single-track release from Adriatique on Cityfox, and more.
Deep House | Adriatique – Space Knights [Cityfox]
Adriatique have been slowly making a name for themselves in the underground, melodic-leaning side of the scene, with a steady output of releases for top labels round the globe. Their latest release comes in the form of a single track for Cityfox called Space Knights and follows in their traditional hypnotic, deep and dark direction. This is certainly the record you need to place at the right spot for maximum effect; if done correctly, this could surely be the track of the night (or better yet–early morning hours). Purchase here.
Deep/Tech | Danny Daze – Flange EP [Ellum Audio]
Ultramajic, Hot Creations and Pets Recordings wonder-producer Danny Daze returns to Maceo Plex’s Ellum Audio imprint with Flange, a sonically exciting EP set to change the game for Danny. Covering a fresh take on techno, Flange is a record everyone needs to pick up for a fresh sound in their techier leaning sets. Huge buzzing sounds and storming beats define the title track, while on the flip, Danny takes the mood a bit deeper (and steadier) for Ritmo. Huge release–pick it up here.
Deep/Progressive | Yousef & The Angel – Float Away Remixes [FFRR]
UK DJ/producer Yousef teamed up with vocalist The Angel on Float Away, and now an official remix package has arrived via FFRR. Grum, Clancy, and A-Minor all offer up takes, but our favorite is definitely Grum’s, who has drifted a bit from his original nu disco-esque sound into more progressive territory. If you fancy less vocals, a dub version of Grum’s mix is also available on the remix EP. Get it here.
House | Harry Romero – Tania (Remixes Part 2) [Toolroom]
Harry Romero’s classic Tania returns to Toolroom Records with the second batch of remix treatments–this time with an updated 2014 remake from Harry himself, as well as heavyweight producers Doorly and Taras Van De Voorde. Riding a perfect line between house and tech house, the remixes take in all the best parts of the original hit record and twist and shape them into entirely new pieces of perfectly made dancefloor jams. Grab the remixes here.
Big Room/Pop | Michael Jackson – Slave To The Rhythm (Audien Remix) [Epic]
We always knew Audien was going to be big, but the Connecticut native has seriously outdone himself with his latest track–a remix of the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson. Taken from his posthumous album XScape, Slave To The Rhythm gets a larger-than-life house rework that literally takes your breath away when the drop hits. This is going to be one of the biggest hits of the year–get it here.
