We’ve returned with the fourth edition of our Beatport series known as The Beatport Box, dedicated to uncovering the best in Beatport exclusives. This week we’ve got the latest “future classic” from Ten Walls, a melodic package from Myon & Shane 54, and the arrival of the DCONSTRUCTED HQ files.
Deep House | Ten Walls – Walking With Elephants [BOSO]
It’s very rare that an artist can burst into the scene, virtually unknown, and top the Beatport charts with the first two releases. Ten Walls, the (previously secret) alias of Mario Basanov did just that with his perfect blend between melodic house and deep soul on trailblazing labels Innervisions and Life & Death. His latest release for the newly minted BOSO imprint is following in the footsteps of his previous masterpieces, with two expertly crafted cuts designed for the deeper moments in the night when the melodies and groove need to be at their absolute best. This is without a doubt a true future classic! Get it here.
Trance | Myon & Shane 54 – Hurricane Remixes [Ride]
Melodic trance specialists Myon & Shane 54 have released a fantastic package of remixes for their single Hurricane, including takes from LTN, Timur Shafiev, Wrechiski, and Vigel, as well as their previously released “In Search Of Sunrise” mix. LTN, Shafiev, and Wrechiski all rely on deep, ambient melodies that peak in a drop of trance glory. The Vigel mix still has a trance-like breakdown, but the drop is much more of your standard hands-in-the-air big room fare. Grab ‘em here.
Big Room | Billy The Kit – Mustang (Original Mix) [Cr2]
Following huge releases on Laidback Luke’s Mixmash Records, Tiesto’s Musical Freedom, and Fedde Le Grand’s Flamingo Recordings, Dutch party rocker Billy The Kit joins Cr2 with a single-track behemoth entitled Mustang. Just like the car, Mustang demands attention and is built to perform with noticeable perfection. Huge melodies sit on top of thunderous kick drums, while clever breaks and edits keep things exciting from start to end. Get it here.
Big Room | Funkagenda vs Sultan & Ned Shepard – Astana (Mainstage Mix) [Harem]
We at Beatport love when top artists collaborate together, and we can’t deny being quite excited when we found out Funkagenda was putting out a cut with Sultan & Ned Shepard. Fortunately, the results matched our high expectations. Astana, released on Sultan & Ned Shepard’s own Harem Records, is a perfect balance between tribal rhythm and epic big room house. Already supported by Tiesto and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, we’re predicting Astana will be a tried and tested festival anthem by the end of this season. Pick it up here.
Various | Various Artists – DCONSTRUCTED [Walt Disney]
Everyone’s childhood dreams have come through with the release of DCONSTRUCTED, a remix album of some of Disney’s biggest hits throughout the years. Heavyweights like Armin van Buuren, Mat Zo, Avicii, Kaskade, and BT all make appearances, recreating such classics as The Circle Of Life from The Lion King, Let It Go from Frozen, and even The Muppet Show theme. Our personal favorites on the package are Armin’s Let It Go rework and BT and Au5′ Partysaurus Overflow, a liberal take on the theme music from the Toy Story short, Partysaurus Rex. Get nostalgic here.
