The Chainsmokers, a New-York based duo consisting of Andrew Winter and Alex Pall, are best described as “DJs, Producers, Retired JV High School Athletes, and Self-Proclaimed Male Models”. When they aren’t busy reliving memories of game-winning touchdowns or posing as underwear models, they also happen to make some pretty fantastic progressive house music. If you’re a fan of four-to-the-floor, hands-in-the-air music, you need to check these guys out.
Remixing Little Daylight’s Overdose, the duo have transformed a sugar-sweet indie song into an extremely satisfying piece of progressive house. Positive vibes, shimmering synths, lazer beams, and playful vocal distortions make this feel refreshing instead of cheesy. Their slick progressive electro reboot of Tonite Only’s We Run The Night is equal parts soothing and thrashing – fantastic chord progressions and a memorable drop make this one a standout. Rounding out the list is a remix of Around Us by Jónsi, the lead singer of Sigur Ros. Huge, uplifting synths join forces with the unique vocals of Jónsi to create a memorable piece of progressive house. It’s the perfect feel-good track to get you ready for the summer (or a certain music week in Miami). To download the remixes and listen to more banging tracks, head over to their Soundcloud now.
