Welcome to The Technodrome, our brand new series focusing on the deliciously deep, dark, and driving sounds of techno. For our maiden voyage, we have new techno music from the likes of Tale Of Us, Recondite, Julian Jeweil, and more. Are you ready to step into Wonderland and see how far the rabbit hole goes?
Barnt – Cherry Red (Tale Of Us & Recondite Remix) [Magazine]
Two of my favorite artists in the game link up for an absolute monster in this new, powerful remix of Barnt’s dark and twisted 11-minute masterpiece. Bringing their signature style of emotional techno to the table, the trio deliver an intelligent and intense cut full of otherworldly synths and relentless kicks. The build around the four-minute mark is spellbindingly surreal and poignant, making the remix the perfect addition to a peak-time party. Pick it up on Beatport here.
Sloud & Kevin Acevedo – Magnetik (Original Mix) [Riben]
I can’t think of a better word to describe this track than “Magnetik.” Produced by a pair of up-and-coming Spaniards, Magnetik isn’t quite as pounding as some other tracks on the list, but it doesn’t have to be–the bass is infectious, and the groove so energetic that you will be cutting shapes all night long on the dancefloor. Marc Houle – Coar (Julian Jeweil Remix) [Minus]
Marc Houle’s legendary Restore LP, released on Minus a decade ago, has received a fresh coat of paint by way of the Restored remix album. Featuring additions by a slew of talented producers such as Joris Voorn, Harvard Bass, and Justin James, I was hard-pressed to chose just one song, but I eventually zeroed in on this dark and dynamic banger from French artist and Richie Hawtin favorite Julian Jeweil. If you’re looking for a nasty late-night number, this is it. Pick it up on Beatport here.
Teho – Cliché (Fabian Hug Remix) [Parquet]
Full of white noise, eery synths, and a bevy of bird calls, this is almost too perfect for an outdoor party in the forest. Just imagine this tune playing out in the early hours of morning, when the sun is just beginning to peak over the horizon. Pick it up on Beatport here.
Alan Fitzpatrick – For An Endless Night (Jel Ford Remix) [Drumcode]
Following on heels of October’s hit song Backyard, Jel Ford returns to Drumcode with a remix of Alan Fitzpatrick’s 2012 hit, For An Endless Night. Both producers have a flair for crafting peak-time powerhouses that explode with big room melodies and uplifting synths, and this one is no different. Pick it up on Beatport here.
