Tchami has quickly established himself as an artist worth watching in 2014, first with his remix of Turn It Up by Mercer, and more recently, with his take on Martin Garrix’ Wizard. The Parisian producer is set to follow up these stellar remixes with the original track Untrue, his first since 2013’s PROMESSES EP.
If those earlier tracks were a proof of concept for Tchami’s futuristic house style, then Untrue must be the fully realized final product. The track expertly mines the realms of deep/tech house and garage, with twists and turns anchored by a percussive, syncopated bassline that relentlessly pounds and pulses underneath disembodied, gender-bending vocal samples reminiscent (in mood) of Burial’s LP of the same name.
Untrue is out April 4 via Spinnin’ Records.
