With releases across electro labels such as Boys Noize, Dim Mak, and Mixmash, Munich-based Tai is a name to know in the world of electro house beats. This post will feature some of his original work, a remix, and a collaboration with electro all-star Steve Aoki. Hold on TAIght, this is electro done proper.
First is Rocking The Set, a Dutch house festival beast TAI released earlier this year. With a rap-based buildup and Dutch horns done right, this track must be played loud from start to finish. Next is his remix of the electro turned electro-pop classic from Mason, Exceeder. Here, he takes a light, catchy melody and injects it full of sophistication and character. It’s a hard song to improve on, but TAI does it with finesse.
Finally, from TAI’s most recent EP and arguably his most aggressive sounding track is Paradise Poltergeist. The aggression and grimy electro nature shouldn’t come as any surprise since he teamed up with aforementioned electro wildman Steve Aoki for this one. But as stated in the title, only half the track is a dark grimy aggressive beast, the rest plays the part of paradise surprisingly well. With a delightfully uplifting sound, I found myself at first questioning what I was listening to. Out of character, perhaps, but satisfying as all hell.
