Terrible news from SXSW in Austin: At around 12:30 a.m. last night, a drunk driver crashed into a line of festival-goers outside Austin’s Mohawk venue, leaving two dead and 23 injured (five of whom are in critical condition).

According to The New York Times, Austin police chief Art Acevedo reported that the driver was fleeing from the police when he crashed through a blocked intersection and into the crowd. The driver proceeded to wreck into a van before attempting to flee on foot and being apprehended by an officer.

The Mohawk, hosting showcases for both House of Vans and Spin this week, was scheduled to have Tyler, The Creator perform last night around 1:00 a.m. The show was cancelled following the crash, and the venue will be closed today. Tyler took to Twitter to announce the show’s cancellation following the incident:

According to Chief Acevedo, the driver of the car will reportedly face two counts of capital murder and 23 counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle.
