Sven Vath Is Throwing A Cocoon Halloween Party In An Abandoned British Insane Asylum

For Ibiza veterans, the sound of Sven Vath’s ever-popular Cocoon parties are about as far from spooky as you can get, so when the German techno king brings his brand to the UK for Halloween on Oct. 31, he’s got something that should give it just the right atmosphere–an abandoned lunatic asylum.

In a 14-hour long spectacular hosted in association with Liverpool promoters Freeze and Cream, Cocoon is taking up residency in the city’s Newsham Park Hospital, which has previously played host to the likes of Marco Carola. Almost in the form of a mini-festival, it all kicks off at 2 p.m. for an afternoon and evening of solid techno vibes from the likes of Popof, Danah Ruh, and of course, Sven himself.

Obviously, hanging around a Victorian asylum after dark on Halloween might be a bit much for even the hardiest skeptic, so at 10 p.m. the action moves to Cream’s home club Nation, where the German theme continues unabated, as Berlin duo Booka Shade lead the party well into the early hours.

Tickets are on sale now, and more information can be found on the Asylum Facebook page.
