Welcome to Stay Plugged In 20. In this episode we bring you plenty of knob-tweaking fun in the form of three very excellent plugins.
Softube Saturation Knob
Softube Saturation Knob can be applied to all sorts of sounds where you feel a little more drive or punch is needed. It features three switchable modes that change the saturation based on the type of sound you are processing. The Saturation Knob is extremely easy to use but can yield great results with just a little experimentation. It is available in Windows VST, AAX and RTAS plus Mac VST and RTAS formats.
- Keep high, neutral, and keep low switchable saturation types
- Large, easy to manipulate saturation knob
- Simple to use
RandARP is a full-featured arpeggiator with randomizing options. It has all the features you would expect in an arpeggiator but with the addition of randomizing knobs for the octaves, velocity, gate, shift, and swing controls. The added randomizing features allow you to create some pretty wild rhythmic variations. RandARP is available in Windows VST format.
- Full-featured arpeggiator
- Randomizing of octaves, velocity, gate, shift, and swing functions
Oxe FM Synth
Oxe FM Synth is a software FM synthesizer plugin that features eight individual operators consisting of six oscillators, one noise generator/limiter, and one filter. Whether you use the included 48 presets or tweak the knobs to create new sounds there are plenty of tonal possibilities to be had. Oxe FM Synth sounds great and we especially like the modulation matrix. It is available in Windows VST format.
- Multitimbral (16 MIDI channels)
- 8 operators (6 oscillators, 1 noise generator/limiter, 1 filter), all with envelope
- 1 LFO per channel
- Modulation matrix with self-modulation
- Global reverb and delay
