Henry Fong’s four-track Stand Up EP, easily one of the most anticipated releases so far this year, is out today on OWSLA. The release includes Fong’s original tune, which has been remastered for the release, as well as remixes by a few friends including HARD head honcho Destructo, progressive house and electro producer DallasK, and trap lords Milo & Otis.
The most enjoyable aspect of the EP is the sheer difference in styles that each of the remixes brings to the table. While the original is more of a traditional festival house banger, Destructo’s remix takes things down a notch by adding some hauntingly techy warehouse vibes. This one was certainly made with an underground, late-night party vibe in mind. DallasK also reimagines the track by transforming it into an electro-heavy, in-your-face banger with loads of energy and stabbing synths. Lastly, Milo & Otis’ remix gives the track a dose of trap with their snares and high-pitched synths (listen closely, and you’ll also hear one of Breaking Bad character Jesse Pinkman’s most commonly uttered phrases from the show). Each of the remixes adds a unique style and feeling to the original creating a well-rounded and expertly crafted EP.
