NYC-based Brazilian DJ/producer Marcos Carnaval has been making a bit of a splash in the Latin house world over the last couple of years. Armed with his own label/party called We Love Brasil, his tribal rhythms have been heard all over the world, including this year’s Ultra Music Festival. He also recently played at Pacha NYC, for which a podcast was released.
I first heard Good Night Drums earlier this year when it was still unreleased. A couple of changes have been made since then, including the addition of Rodrigo Vieira–another Brazilian DJs who frequents the We Love Brasil parties. Since then the track has gotten widespread play, especially in more Latin-influenced countries; my comrade Proto told me that he heard this track in Ibiza when he was there last month. I knew when I first heard it that the track was a hit, so I am glad it is getting the recognition it deserves. The only qualm I have with it is that it is a bit too long, but hopefully a bit of an edit is on the way. So, if you like booty-shaking, conga-driven beats, give this track a listen!
