Skrillex has launched a new free-release label called Nest. Operated separately from his other label OWSLA, Nest will run through Nest HQ and will exclusively feature free releases from both up-and-coming and mainstream artists.
Aaron Clevenger, better known as AC Slater, has offered up his new EP Back To The Floor as the label’s inaugural release. According to AC, the five-track EP focuses on taking the focal point of dance music away from the “superstar DJ concert” and bringing it back to the club:
Back to the Floor is just a statement of where my head is at musically…. The whole “put your hands up” and shit is cool but it’s kinda played out for me personally. I want to focus more on the music and how it makes the individual feel. Everyone having their own experience and vibing out in the club rather than watching someone tell them what to do. It doesn’t have to be on 10 all the time. It’s okay to zone out and get lost in the music…
Back To The Floor is available to download via Nest HQ here.
