Dillon Francis shared the third and easily most talked-about new track on his next EP, his original moombahton production with Skrillex.
Francis follows up the release of Bruk Bruk (I Need Your Lovin) with Bun Up The Dance, the third reveal from his heavily anticipated This Mixtape Is Fire EP after the aforementioned Bruk and his Hersey-Kygo collab Coming Over.
In a 2014 interview, Dillon dished us the deets on what was originally planned to be a four-track “moombahton EP.” The package has since expanded to seven items, but he is still looking to dig back into his moombahton roots with his This Mixtape Is Fire, and what better way to do so than with the man who most successfully introduced the sound to the masses? No stranger himself, Skrillex’ love affair with the latin-influenced sound is epitomized by his moombah-rooted, Grammy Award-winning Bangarang that dominated 2012.
Dillon and Skrillex go for tribal simplicity with Bun Up The Dance, using hand drums, cowbell, and reedy pops to craft a visceral moombah jam that reeks of a raucous time in the studio from beginning to its blabbering end.
This Mixtape is Fire is out Aug. 14 and will feature five additional items including collabs with Calvin Harris, Chromeo, Bro Safari, and more. See the complete tracklist below, and pre-order here to get an instant copy of Bun Up The Dance.
