Skrillex and a few of his OWSLA fambam flip Yogi and Pusha T‘s Burial in three very different fashions.
While Sonny might’ve caught the music world unprepared for his latest remix EP when it appeared without warning on iTunes, his tendency to remix his buddies’ boisterous bass cuts makes his inclusion in the Burial remixes less surprise than familiar bonus. The LA-based label boss teams up with fellow lost angel TrollPhace to set the tone for the rest of the boom-heavy package with a trap-step take that gingerly blends gangster and OHMYGAWD–emblematic of today’s symbiotic relationship between trap and dubstep.
The mysterious Moody Good bats second with a trap take, beating a series of dizzying swerves into Burial in between his comparatively heavy application of Pusha T’s verse.
Crookers (pictured, left) crafts an unsuspected wobbly house cut while retaining the original’s mean attitude for a beat built to bring them bass faces out on the dancefloor.
