Sinkane Brings The Soul With ‘How We Be’
Sinkane - How We Be (Original Mix) [DFA]

Sudanese-born Ahmed Gallab, aka Sinkane, travels back in time with his latest funk-filled single, How We Be, taken off his forthcoming sophomore album Mean Love.

Kicking off with a playful synth riff, How We Be quickly turns into a sublime mix of electronic funk and psychedelic soul. Gallab’s crooning vocals sail over a string of bouncing bass, and the artist really throws it back with the addition of a colorful, ’70s flute number.

Well before going out on his own, Gallab found his way into the scene as a studio musician. Prior to the release of his debut solo album, Gallab performed as a drummer and multi-instrumentalist on albums by Yeasayer, Caribou, and Eleanor Friedberger. Since then, Gallab has released one solo record, 2012’s Mars, and is set to release his second album, Mean Love, Sept. 2 via DFA.

You can pre-order the album over on DFA’s website or on iTunes here.
