Coming off of a lengthy Australian tour in support of his new single Chaos Theory, long-time Viper Recordings alum ShockOne has finally unleashed his gargantuan tune on the dnb massive. Debuted by Crissy Criss on BBC Radio 1xtra over a month ago, ShockOne fans have been riled up in anticipation for this tune to finally hit the shops–now available through Beatport. Chaos Theory represents the third offering from ShockOne’s forthcoming debut album Universus, set to drop in early 2013 on Viper.
Although ShockOne was in a band years ago with the Pendulum/Knife Party boys–the Perth-native has earned enough credit through his own productions to be ranked among the elite Australian producers regardless of previous affiliations. With Chaos Theory, ShockOne drives this sentiment home by deploying innovative sound design and polyrhythmic percussion in his latest drum & bass opus. Chaos Theory is laced with a bellowing brass sample from the Japanese monster series Godzilla, proving that this producer operates outside of the confines of conventional synthetics. For the dubsteppers, ShockOne has thrown in a re-tooling of his original mix, utilizing the same screeching lead melody as the original mix accompanied by a heaping helping of agitated filter modulations. With three other mixes of Chaos Theory also available with this huge release, ShockOne continues to show and prove why he’s running things in the land down under.
