All too often, there’s a clear distinction between modern “big room” trance and the more established “uplifting” trance, but does that really have to be the case? Oregon-based producer Accendo proves that the two can blend nicely into one another with his latest track, Shine On, out now on newly established Infrasonic imprint, Infrasonic Pure.
Shine On stomps along at 130 BPM and builds with a dirty big room combination of stuttering beats, nasty bass sounds, and disjointed synth bloops. Yet, as it subtly falls away into big plucks, delicate pianos, and soaring pads in the break, there isn’t an obvious jump into uplifting. Even when the de rigueur big room snare stomps culminate in an epic old school trance drop, it just kind of works–an effortless morphing of styles that stands as a fantastic testament to Accendo’s skill as a producer.
Out now as a Beatport Exclusive, Shine On bodes well for the future of both Accendo and Infrasonic Pure.
