Lana Del Rey is absolutely everywhere these days. Her use of vintage style with a modern twist is no doubt fantastic. After enjoying a rise to success with her debut, Born To Die, everyone has been jumping on the remix boat when it comes to her music. It just so happens that one of her most popular songs, Blue Jeans, just received a fantastic makeover from three of the industry’s hottest remixers.
RAC’s remix is perhaps my favorite. It opens up with dancing progressive melodies, and continues on in a sexy, yet subdued progression. I think this remix is perfect–the moonlit melodies, the inclusion of the lyrics. Everything comes together quite nicely, especially at the slow buildup toward the end of the song. For a slightly harder take, techno’s latest bad boy, Gesaffelstein, serves up some of the usual grimy synth with his spin on the track. The most interesting part is toward the end, when the man breaks it down into a dark, funky beat. Finally, the Moonlight Matters remix takes it back to the ’80s with a retro remix with a modern spin.
