With the motto “music speaks louder than words,” it’s easy to understand what RoryJames is all about. He’s a DJ/producer hailing from the depths of NYC, with a genuine sound that embodies the soul and nostalgia of the “classic” trance era. He recently won the TranceAddict Tomorrowland 2011 DJ Contest, giving him a spot on the TranceAddict Stage next to trance elites like Arnej, Sied van Riel, and Ferry Corsten.
From Rory’s cerebral Tomorrowland mix comes one of his unreleased tunes, Quake, which was featured on Aly & Fila’s show Future Sound of Egypt. Quake is a hi-hat driven, tension-building tune, featuring a thumping bassline and that classic snare roll. He embraces that retro feel, something rarely done in today’s modern trance sound. Not too long ago, Rory spat fire into another unreleased tune, a remix to Suncatcher’s Sunbreeze.
I’d suggest you check out Rory’s sound, whether it be via is promo mixes or livesets or at Eco’s M(you)sic album release party on July 31st in NYC. For more info on Rory, check out his recent interview with United States Trance Movement.
