Saint Pepsi Proclaims His Love For ‘Fiona Coyne’
Saint Pepsi - Fiona Coyne (Original Mix) [Carpark]

Ryan “Saint Pepsi” DeRobertis follows up on February’s Gin City EP with Fiona Coyne, a sunny, upbeat disco track featuring the producer’s own vocals.

Fiona Coyne takes its name from one of the main characters of Degrassi who isn’t Drake, and finds DeRobertis pining for a silver-screen romance that, alas, can never be. While much of his previous output to date has leaned more toward spastic, hip hop-inspired beats (sans original vocals), the Gin City cut Walking Talking hinted at this new direction. It should be obvious by now that Saint Pepsi’s skills know no genre restrictions, but it’s still quite impressive how smoothly he pulls off this style, from the Chic-esque guitar licks to the brassy horn flourishes that accent his breezy vocal hooks.

Fiona Coyne comes from the upcoming Fiona Coyne / Fall Harder 7″, Saint Pepsi’s debut release for Carpark Records. It’s out Aug. 12; pre-order here.
