Canadian indie dubsteppers Zeds Dead released their latest work last weekend. I’ve posted about these guys twice already, but I just couldn’t stay away from a couple of brand new releases.
First up is a remix of UK live electro-dubstep act Jeuce. As one of their first releases ever to go up on Beatport, it’s a big step forward for the duo. Kiss got the classic ZD treatment: hard, wobbly steps with a nice touch of vocal work. However, the house breakdown in the middle retains a bit of the Jeuce in the song.
For their original collab Out For Blood, ZD teamed up with fellow Toronto rapper Omar LinX to show you what happens when dubstep and rap are combined in the right way. It’s tracks like this that demonstrate the significance of dubstep in the years to come; it almost naturally fuses with genres like pop, hip hop and rock to create something much nastier than the sum of its parts.
