Young entrepreneurs and EDM fans, rejoice! There’s a new festival just for you. RECESS, the nationwide “music and ideas festival,” has just revealed the details of its 2014 spring tour.
Adapted from the popular Glowfest series, the four-part event will travel to a number of universities this spring with an eclectic mix of rising startups and electronic artists for a day of “networking, thought-pushing, and live music.”
Part One, known as the “Recess Playground,” is an interactive networking event that gives students the opportunity to network with some of the biggest entrepreneurial names in the business, including: about.me, Deal Flicks, MobileX Labs, Instaradio, Do Cool Sh*t, Pandora, WillCall and more. Later in the day, students will also have the opportunity to hear a handful of guest speakers from these companies during the “Study Hall” portion.
The student attendees and young Zuckerbergs can also participate in a March Madness-style “Pitch Competition” where groups can pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges. The winners will receive a paid trip to Las Vegas to pitch to a group of advisors, mentors and investors. The festival will conclude each day in the best way possible: with performances from high-profile artists such as Diplo, Paper Diamond, Robert Delong, Sage The Gemini and more.
RECESS will kick off March 21 at University of The Pacific in Stockton, CA, with Diplo as the musical headliner. Other campuses on the tour include Indiana University, University of Maryland, New York University, Cornell University, and UC San Diego.
