Ratatat’s ‘Cream On Chrome’ Brings The Funky Disco Grooves

New York City-based rock/dance duo Ratatat played Coachella this weekend and debuted a new single Cream On Chrome, the group’s first release since 2010.

The well-respected tandem’s latest is a funky, low-slung garage rock-meets-nu disco tune that features blistering lead synths, a chugging bassline, and thick drum kicks. Feeling like mid-2000s Ed Banger mixed with the Brooklyn hipster underground, the song is an ear-worming and booty-shaking groove. An accompanying minimalist video of a sound-affected series of tubes, set against a wall in what appears to be an artist’s studio, is now available below.

There is no word as to whether this will be available for sale or part of a possible forthcoming LP5 album, but we’ll keep you updated as new details arise.
